Birthday Surprise
Well I will be 40 tomorrow. I know its hard to believe. Well anyway my wife gave me the best birthday party ever. She told many lies to make it happen but wow she did it up real good. I lead a mens group every other Sunday evening. So she left with kids and one of the guys showed up. We started catching up and wife called back and said car was broke down. So I grabbed tools and rain coat and told guy @ meeting would be back soon. I found wife's car in road so I am getting ready to push into parking lot. I jump out of car and Brooke meets me in road with a balloon. I was in total shock because I am in fix it mode. She says all the men and all of family @ a local restaurant waiting to celebrate my birthday-WOW! I then asked about guy @ our house she said it is all taken care of. I just want to give a big thanks to Brooke for her doing this for me. I have been telling everyone today @ work. I have never had a surprise party and I really appreciate the thought put into pulling it off. Brooke always says I dont like surprises but this one I loved. I guess I have to do a So What? Family and friends there is nothing better and I appreciate and love you all. Thanks.

Old Military Friends...
It has almost been 10 years since leaving Army. Wow it has gone by fast. Well I am heading to Brooke Army Medical Center next week to take a medical physical to enter the Army reserves. It has been awesome to keep in contact with military friends to include Derek, Trevor, Jason, Buda, Dan, and Julie. I recently spoke via email to Trevor or Command Sergeant Major Flemming. He is CSM of 1st Medical Batt @ Fort Hood. I ask him about the day the Major commited an act of terroism. I said I bet it was crazy. Trevor said that word did not describe the insanity of that day.
I have been desiring to get back in to serve my country but that day only stamped and sealed it in my mind my desire to lead and train soldiers. I had asked Trevor months ago what he thought about my desire to join. He told 95% chance of being deployed...Long pause....ok I can do this. When I recently contacted him and let him know what I had decided. He said the Army needs great leaders! Thanks Trev...But he is right....The Army needs men and woman of character, courage, and leaders to lead by example for the good of our country.
I hope everyone will pray for my decision to get back in and to have a purpose in leading soldiers.
